I’ve read a few chapters–about Eve in the Garden, about headship, and subject to, and others.
This is a remarkably thoughtful effort to be true to the teachings of the Bible, and I find very little so far I disagree with. I can see it as a needed collection of readings for the rare few people in our society who have grown up with countless teachings about women being submissive and even inferior to their husbands.
The idea that women submit and men lead is quite a ways off of my past life experience, so I feel a stronger need to emphasize that Men need to step up to God’s role for them.
Especially, I agree that women and men are equal in importance, in goodness and spirituality in the sight of God.
Unfortunately, some have erred in interpreting Biblical teachings about men having priesthood authority and heading their households, or about eve’s decision in the Garden, and have assumed that means women are “cursed” or inferior. Absolutely not true.
However, I do find significant value in God’s structure of order and decision-making and responsibility that places men at the head of his family. Of course that does not replace a woman’s direct and personal relationship with Christ or her ability to lead in many ways, or her value to society.

I’ll poke around here a bit! Looks like you have a wealth of information. I am always impressed at the depth of Bible study of some women! Kudos.
I found you from a link Mara’s blog and I’ve been there and done that same wrestling you are doing. Katharine Bushnell had a lot of helpful insight for my journey and her material is the cornerstone of this blog (all the posts are from her book “God’s Word to Women”). Bushnell wrote @ 100 years ago, before women even had the vote.
